Reviews
Been here now for at least six various shows and loved them all! Super friendly staff, unique vibe, and brilliant shows and performances! Highly recommend this place, you won’t regret it!
I was very disappointed to come 15 after beginning of the show and not been admitted on the basis that there was no late sitting policy. It met similar attitude only at Metropolitan opera, there customers at list can watch opera through television stranslation. So the show organizers are feeling themselves on this level
JAZZMUS: A Conscious Collective Caberet- performance by Verna Hampton featuring Levern "The Entertainer" Williams. Gary Schreiner on keyboards and Jim Mussen on drums. Part of the Poetry Electric series black history month celebration. Works included Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington and Billy Holliday.
Thank goodness for Ellen Stewart and her expansive and visionary creation known as LaMama! Puppets Plays Performances Are PERFECTION!! Support the Arts!
Amazing theater for new productions. Perfectly sized. Simple and effective.
The interior is ugly, seating is first-come-first-serve. Your experience largely depends on what you come to see.
Very nice theater. Cafe waiting area/lounge has selection of tea, coffee, beverages, wine. Staff is super nice and informative. Overall experience is wonderful. Highly recommended.
LaMama is located on a street once teaming with little off off Broadway theaters....with a few still, lucky for us, remaining. It is clean and, some how, seems happy.
Downsides- unisex bathroom. While I applaud this feature, someone walked in on me - the stall - although locked...evidentky she was strong and the schnek not- while a man was using the urinal. It just was awkward all around.
Also, like so many older buildings, it did not seem to be accessible.
Loads of good work is done here: check out their callendar and enjoy yhd "hood.
